Not to be discouraging but I wouldn't make a feature. Since you listed all of your production values in less than a paragraph that isn't going to hold anyones attention for a feature film no matter how good the story is. I'd say make a ten minute short instead and find distribution on the internet

OR

join a reenactment group and pal around with them for a year or so. Then ask them if they would like to do a movie and then you might have 30-40 extras already dressed for you're film.

It's cool you've got big ideas that you want to see on film, but there is no way on God's green Earth I'd consider making a WW2 flick for very little money.

The subject matter just doesn't lend itself to the low budget aesthetic.

With a low budget, you have to play to your strengths if you want to make anything worthwhile. If you worked hard, then yes, you could make something decent. But the number of ambitious cheapo movies I've seen that were spoilt by their lack of believability is many.

Keep it simple yet creative.

a low budget war movie? Of course you can.
Dig a big hole/trench in your back garden, nick LOADS of barbed wire and rent a smoke machine.
Cover your actors in mud and then set 80% of the film in a WW1 trench.
Use fancy location shots for the rest of it.

Hey, why don't you make a movie about two men, so crazely obsessed with WW2, that they actually start imagining that they are in the 2nd world war. They are collectors of WW2 items, and therefore have the available guns and suits. But they don't have anyone to fight? Which side will they choose? You probably don't want two germans killing jews in england. Or....

Why not do a chance meeting between two soliders in a barn. Both are shot. Slowly they relise that they need each other and start talking to each other. Life stories ect. Realise how similar they are. Min. 2 actors, 1 set just a few props. Sorted!

I made a low budget war movie.
30 minutes long.
I'd show you guys but I've been having trouble getting the rights for the music.

It cost me about $300
I went to an army surplus store and rented full outfits for five actors. Lots of fireworks. Guns were spray-painted water guns. Looked real enough.
Fake blood did too.

And about 200 hours of editing.

It's possible.
Don't let anyone discourage you.
